Pre Energization

Before a connection is energized and handed over to the energy supplier, Haddon Power Services conducts rigorous testing and commissioning procedures to ensure the integrity and performance of the infrastructure, in compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations. Our extensively experienced and fully trained senior authorised personnel are authorized for electrical installation and electrification projects up to 33kV. We prioritize the regular training and assessment of all our SAPs, who attend Refresher Courses and are closely monitored by our qualified and experienced Authorising Engineer. Complying with health and safety legislation, we perform periodic inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure its proper functioning. As a rule, HV assets should be inspected annually and serviced every five years. Regular inspections allow us to detect any degradation in performance and proactively replace faulty items before complete failure. Our comprehensive testing and commissioning services encompass full switchgear and transformer testing, high-voltage AC and DC pressure testing, VLF testing, primary and secondary injection testing, ductor testing, turns ratio testing, earth testing including fall of potential testing and resistivity, G59 3/3 testing, partial discharge testing, and a full range of switchgear and transformer oil testing in accordance with BS EN 60475:2011. With our team of experienced electrical engineers and utilization of the latest technology, we can tailor a commissioning program specifically to suit your needs. Additionally, Haddon Power Services has the capability to act as an Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) when working on projects, providing further expertise and support.
